Some photos of the newly built houses on the former site of Town Farm (later Tulip's Yard) adjacent to the old A69 when it passed this way through the village. The line of Hadrian's Wall likes under the houses and was subject to excavation during development of the site. The development of two detached, 4-bedroom houses and three link-detached, 3-bedroom dormer bungalows was completed in the summer of 2019.

Completed £1.1 million new development of five houses on former site of Town Farm (later Tulip's Yard - haulage business). On the right is the course of the old A69 road through the village, following the line of Wade's Military Road built directly above remains of Hadrian's Wall. Remains of the Wall were found and recorded during excavation of the foundations although destroyed in the process. Despite local interaction with the companies involved (developer: Newminster Properties; principal contractor: Kapex Construction, part of Newcastle-based Morton Group) the developer involved refused to donate to the village the few authentic stones recovered from the north facing course of the Wall.

It’s been a pleasure for us to work on such an outstanding residential development and I have absolutely now doubt that these beautiful, large family homes will sell very easily.'"
