War veterans get a singing send-off from school children as they continue the walk of Britain
The children from Heddon-on-the-Wall St Andrews C of E First School gave six wounded soldiers a fantastic send-off this morning, along with the staff at Dingle Dell tearooms and many of the villagers of Heddon-on-the Wall.
Today the WWTW team is taking on a Northumberland stage, from Heddon-on-the-Wall to Hexham.

I feel really emotional - to see these amazing people overcoming such severe injury and having such a wonderful attitude to life. They've brought a lot of joy and a really positive feeling to our village this morning. We feel very proud of them and I'm so pleased they enjoyed the marvellous send-off we gave them.
Victoria Nicholson of WWTW added:
We are so grateful to the people of Heddon-on-the-Wall. Sharon was the first person in the country to get in touch with us when Prince Harry launched Walking With The Wounded and we're delighted to be here enjoying such a special welcome. It's the best send-off we've been given so far and the singing by the schoolchildren will give us a real spring in our step today as we meet folk along Hadrian's Wall."
