Heddon History Map
Updated Google Map (December 2022) of the visible and recorded history of Heddon on the Wall parish to fix broken links and photographs. I have concentrated initially on the area around Heddon village and Close House as I know these best but do intend to expand out into the other parts of the parish in due course.
The symbol top right will open a full-screen map which is much easier to navigate on a PC or laptop. The symbol top left opens or closes the sidebar.
Click on the symbol for more information about the site represented.
It is my intention to add further information and photos to the site captions as time allows.
Roman sites and finds are in green
Other main historical sites are in blue
Places where things have been found but there is nothing to be seen today are in purple
Other sites of interest are in yellow
Coal Mines are shown as red flames
Wagonways and railways are shown as blue trains
The blue line shows the approximate boundary of the modern parish.
Much of the information has been taken from Keys to the Past - Heddon on the Wall
